Everest Base Camp Trek

Introduction

The main trekking route in the Everest region is the trek to Everest Base Camp which lies in Nepal. The Everest Base Camp Trek is the most popular trekking trail on earth and offers a unique opportunity to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Furthermore, the Everest Base Camp trek connects trekkers with other adventurous and cultural sites such as the Gokyo Lake trek, Ama Dablam Base Camp trek, Makalu Base Camp trek, Island peak climbing, Khumbu Glacier trek, Imja Glacier, Ngozumpa glacier, Nangpai Gosum Glacier,  Sagarmatha National Park, Tengboche monastery trek, and many more.

After the successful attempt of Tenzing-Hillary over Mt. Everest, the Everest Base Camp Trek has been in high demand from mountaineers and hikers from all over the world. Hikers are fascinated by the impressive peaks, Buddhist monasteries, Buddhist prayers and festivals, wall paintings, thanka paintings, stone paintings, tea house accommodation, flora and fauna, hospitable Sherpa people, and village settlements they see as they trek through Everest. After the harrowing flight, you will land at Lukla Airport from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, where you can hike towards Namche Bazaar, a well-known Sherpa village, and proceed to Tengboche Monastery while the mesmerizing peak of Ama Dablam towers over you.

At the foot of Everest, after crossing the glaciers, the view of a lifetime awaits you. This route is sure to make anyone's dream come true as it offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains including Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, as well as other mountains towering over 8,000 meters, including Mount Lhotse and Mount. Makalu, Mt. Cho-Oyu, and other nearby popular mountains such as Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse, among others.

The term "Roof of the World", which is a metaphor for the highlands in central Asia, stands symbolically for Mount Everest (8848.86m), the highest peak in the world. Its most common name, “Sagarmatha” in Nepali, means “the mother goddess of the earth”. Climbing Everest Base Camp is famous for the distinctive scenery of the Solukhumbu region, which is the home of the Sherpas, the world's fearless mountain climbers. The Mountain Everest Base Camp Trek will lead the trekkers to the route by which Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay successfully scaled Mt. Everest in 1953.
